The cliche about the rich getting richer, etc., is straight out of Karl Marx who could not understand that wealth is created, not stolen, especially not stolen from the poor who have next to nothing to begin with.
Many years ago I learned the secret to being happy. I lived within my means and saved 10% of my income. It wasn’t easy at first but learning that I didn’t need to have every fancy fad of a gadget and didn’t need a new car all that often helped. Learning to watch what I spent my income on helped too, watch for sale prices. Strive for the day when I didn’t have to pay interest on anything, the last to go was my mortgage but it was paid off 15 years early.Today my nest egg is a comfortable cushion that I will dip into now and then to go on a special vacation. Envying “the rich” will get you nowhere, there has ALWAYS been a wide disparity between the rich and the poor, the answer is to do the best with what you have and to be happy doing it.
Just have to reply to pschesrer. When various Central American countries sought a fair revenue from United Fruit for exported bananas, they got the US to intervene, either by threats or by actually deposing the democratically elected government. Is that creating wealth for United Fruit or stealing? Just one of many examples.

If there weren’t any rich people, most of us wouldn’t get paid.
