Sorry, I’m about to stop reading this comic because of Harrell. And why is Basset still listed as the “artist/author” when he obviously has nothing to do with the comic anymore? To quote the sidebar: “Welcome to the new way to office, straight from the humor of Brian Basset.” That’s a crock of (expletive deleted).

I’m at the age where I realized, - I like my coffee NOW, the way I liked my “lady’s” THEN!

Deeply tanned, HOT and sweet, and capable of keeping me UP all NIGHT!

(Problem is, the COFFEE is all I can HANDLE!!!)

So is Harrell like Ted in the For Better or For Worse strip? I’m new to Adam@home so I don’t know the characters that well yet. Ted in FBFW is John’s unmarried friend who lives with mommy and is a disgusting sexist pig.

My son tells me there is a place juts like this in Seattle but they wear bikinis instead of go go boots.

I think if there were some in my neighborhood I might wander over.

It’s just funny how the rhythm of those posts is always so similar …

“Old strip was great. New strip stinks. I’m quitting reading forever.”

Who says that? I stopped reading Shoe awhile back for a lot reasons, but I didn’t post on the board.

Harrell is the drawer of this comic, not a character, Macushlalondra. I think that folks are not humored by Harrell doing th comic, but I was under the impression, that Bassat was still the writer!

I think people post complaints about the strip because they are hoping if they complain the strip will improve.

“squeeky wheel gets the grease” sort of thing.

    Anyway I hate coffee

Yes, it’s lunch time here at work, Tink. Look, let’s not harp on this anymore about who should be doing the strip and who shouldn’t. To us It’s just a good strip no matter who’s doing it, okay? We should harp on Dick Locher instead! Lunch time’s over, back to work. Catch you in evening.

Eh. At a coffee shop, like at a bar, one of the things you’re selling is the service. Imagine three coffee shops; one sells good coffee, but the servers are surly and grungy. One sells good coffee, but the servers are cute and friendly. The third sells terrible coffee (or overpriced coffee), but the servers give lap-dances.

The third place is going to get SOME business, but they’re not REALLY selling the coffee. But if the first two are serving a comparable product at a comparable price, which place do you expect is going to do more business? The “eye-candy” store won’t even have to pay their servers extra, because they’ll be raking in the tips.

If it turns out that Coffee To Go-Go has doubled the old prices or has started serving terrible coffee, then yeah, they’re leaning to the third category, but given what we’ve seen so far, I don’t see anything to complain about.

Besides, the way the server is being presented here, she’s hardly a “painted harlot”; she’s just CUTE.

fritzoid: how about… 1 sells good coffee but the service is extremely slow. 1 sells bad coffee but the service is fast 1 sells good coffee and the service is fast. I would take option 3 every time. Given a choice between 2 places selling decent coffee, I would always pick the one with the faster service. As I said earlier, I see no point in waiting if it isn’t absolutely necessary.

As I say to people who swear they’re going to stop watching Monday Night Raw after a bad segment, see you next week. Since Adam@Home is a daily, I guess that means see you tomorrow.

No wonder people make fun of old people and their comic strips.

yyyguy, the difference may also lie in whether you’re leaving or sticking around. If you’re in a hurry, certainly, go someplace where you can get in and get out quickly. But if I’m going to sit down for a while and relax, then I won’t mind waiting a little while. Personally, I NEVER get coffee to go, anywhere. I like someplace where I can hang out. (For one thing, my motorcycle lacks cupholders.)

From yesterday’s strip it seems that Adam IS looking to get in and out quickly (not to say that he’s looking for “the old in-and-out”), so he WOULD be advised to find someplace else today, but that doesn’t mean that Coffee To Go-Go is a bad place. As it states in the 2nd panel, the name is NOT to be read as a promise of speedy service.

I sorta go for fritzoid’s painted harlots - I can still remember the topless and bottomless bars (no, no, ladies, I thought they were disgusting also. Really. Honest.)

Ushindi, you like me are in SF, no? Anyplace you know of like Coffee To Go-Go around here? The skatepunk/art school variety of coffee shop is fun, but I’d like a little Carnaby Street now and again…

@fritzoid. if you’re still around. i concede your point on the willingness to wait a little bit if you’re staying to drink it at the shop. i don’t mind in that situation, either. but even so, if the line is too long, i’d rather find another place to go.
