Yeah, I remember the first concerts I took my son to, Metallica, Nirvana, Lollapaloozas 1, 2 and 3. Somehow back then I fit in fine. I still manage to take in a few concerts. It’s fun with local bands because most of the folks who are my age that show up are “band parents” and they walk around wide-eyed at how the rest of the crowd looks.

Stone Temple Pilots with the oldest and Daughtry with the youngest. I still go occassionally as well. Just not as many great bands I’m willing to shell out the outrageous ticket prices for.

It’s not a concert, it’s a screamfest. Good luck there, Adam.

it all depends on the performers and the venue if you feel like you fit in with your kids early concerts. the first one i went to i felt ancient but the kids in the crowd gave an old man props for being down with the music

i was invited to a performance by a band that one of my co-workers drums for. a thrash metal band playing in a local bar. told him i’d stick out like a sore thumb if i went, but he told me straight up that it would be cool. had i not made other plans i might have gone - though, these days, i’m not sure how much i’d have enjoyed it.
