Oh my! How exciting! To pick out the caulking and grout of my choice? How can they possibly say no to such a thrill as that?

Sears to buy tools, No candy bar, however the Nuts and Candy counter was right there. Cashews & Turtles. I went every time. Dad always wanted the Pistachios that were red. My fingers were always red! The white ones taste just as good, I never buy the red ones anymore.

I still remember my Dad taking us to Huston Lumber when I was in grade school (about 40 years ago). He always had some construction project he was working on, besides his normal job. I don’t remember getting anything to go, but he usually only took one kid at a time with him. (There’s 5 of us kids) I think I went just to get away from my sister & brothers. It was much more enjoyable than going with him to the construction sites for the whole day. I still enjoy shopping at Lowe’s, instead of a clothing store any day!

I’m the opposite. I loved hardware stores as a kid but now they are boring unless there’s something in particular I’m looking for.
