Katy: Come on, dad. We need to start recycling.
Clayton: Yeah, dad. Living green is best for everybody.
Adam: Everybody, huh? Call the Hulk's mom and tell me what she has to say about that.
Back in ’72, the Club of Rome published The Limits To Growth, claiming that we were going to run out of all sorts of resources if population kept growing. It turns out that this “global think tank” assumed that if we need iron, we have to mine it, refine it, use it once then discard it. Apparently, they never noticed that even back then we were reusing all sorts of metals. I guess they never heard of “scrap iron for Japan.”

Might want to ask the Jolly Green Giant how he feels as well.

I think Hulk’s mom would agree with Clayton.

My wife just throws all the garbage in the back yard. I put out the recyclables twice a month. It works.

What’s stopping you?

I suspect that what keeler_james meant was that she composts the garbage. At least I hope so.

Isn’t this a repeat? Or did a different strip do something along the same lines a while back? It’s like Deja Vu all over again.

Don’t give up, write a bit at a time.

According to published sources, the recycling in my county gets dumped in the same landfill as the garbage. Big savings there.

Besides, Kermit the Frog was right when he sang, “It’s not that easy bein’ green.”
