This sounds like a short pause between story arcs.

Take the polar route. The airlines do it and it gets pretty cold up there.

If you go to China nowadays you’re subject not to make it back!

My Dad used to encourage me to dig holes. He was a bit particular about where I could dig, but I was free to dig as much as I wanted. As long as I collected the worms.

You sure don’t want to end up in China! Dig to somewhere else!

Why do people always get this wrong. China is in the northern hemisphere, so digging from the US to China would NOT go through the earth’s core.

If he goes thru the core, he’ll most likely end up in the Indian Ocean. (pedantic, I know but I taught for 32 years and still haven’t shaken the habit) (he’ll also roast and inhale toxic fumes, but that’s too much of a downer for Monday morning)

My wife used to tell my son he could dig wherever he wanted (she wasn’t the one who mowed or had to fill the holes back in). Until I pointed out the disadvantages of digging in our septic field.
