I went earlier this week in a childhood toy rabbit (not-too-deepish) hole, about a handheld electronic game in which the player shall ensure the proper flux of boxes onto conveyors.. That’s one that’s been popping up in that brain here and there over the decades since (~3 and a 1/2 of them).
Turned out – our 2021 internet is really something – against all odds I rather easily found it: that was actually a Nintendo Game & Watch (I had no idea neither the game nor the series was from Nintendo up until then, and in one fell swoop learned about some bit of the pre-NES Nintendo), Mario Bros. namely. Also there is evidently a dedicated Game & Watch community, equipped with their emulator (MAME it seems, a topic I’ll have to dig someday).
And then later that very same day, Ars published some news about some Game & Watch breaking some auction record. Talk about coincidence, and amazed truly I was.
This is the trouble about having an “everything machine” at your fingertips. It’s like a lawnmower that’s also a helicopter, a movie theater, and a cruise ship. The grass gets very high.

Or I go on eBay and look at purses that cost as much as my first car…a red and white 1959 Ford Crown Victoria.

Ok, yes, I have the Auburn Rubber Co tractor and grader again, but I gave the red motorcycle with yellow wheels to my brother for his birthday.

Ok you guys—I’m off to Ebay now. Thanks! Browsing Ebay is lots of fun, too.
