This reminds me of a camp song we sang as kids. (This version isn’t exactly the same as we sang it, it’s more of a military march, but it’s very close.)
It’s the first 1 minute of the clip. I’ve Got Sixpence.
If you end up with a very low income, like many divorced mothers, and also seniors on Social Security, and live in an impossibly out-of-reach real estate market like California, it takes great planning just to end up owning an old mobile home.
Yes, Trout’s mother lives a … hmmm… colorful, and not very socially acceptable lifestyle…some of her problems she may have created herself… but at least she keeps a roof over her daughter’s head…and that may be difficult.
And yes, I’m sure there are better financial advisers around…. but they’re not usually available to the prepubescent.

She is reinvesting in a pack of gum…blowing it into bubbles… for fun.
Sharing it will solidify her position in futures, should Trout get some candy tomorrow.
She can also save a stick…and if she chews enough gum, and eats enough candy, she will, over time, grow the size of her…. um…. assets.

It’s a good thing you don’t have a busfare,
it would fall thru’ the hole in your pocket and you’d lose it
in the snow on the ground.
You got to walk into town to find a job.

May I suggest Double Mint or Double Bubble; you’ll at least feel like you’ve increased you assets.

Susan, “growing assets” reminds me of a card my sister gave me that went something like:
If you want to increase your bust size, just rub toilet paper on your chest. After all, look how well it has worked on your “derrière.”

Doesn’t Trout live in a trailer? She needs to learn financial planning from someone better at it.

Stephan G… Gosh… re-think, please.
Some of my best friends live in “trailers” ..

Arianne… we always sang that too!
And I hope the size of my …. well, you know….. “understanding,” as my Dad called that bit of female anatomy, isn’t due to the use of TP …
I don’t want to have to stop using it!
