At least you finally got the house. Now you have to do is buy a fridge, a stove, furniture, get everything changed to your name for the utilities, get to know the people around where you live and just a few other things. Should just take a couple of days.
But, as someone who actually had to wash clothes in a creek (childhood camping trip, ‘it builds character!’), take my word for it: NEVER DO THIS!!!
It hurt my back and knees when I was 11, you are no longer 11, it will hurt worse. Soaking your hands in that cold water is miserable. Plus, the clothes you wear to do this will end up dirtier than what you started out washing.
You were very smart to say you wouldn’t actually do this.
I will love my daddy to my dying day, but if he were still alive, we would have some words over all his ‘character building’ crap.

Good thing you got the washer and dryer. Crick water most likely is not very clean these days.

Welcome to home ownership. I do hope you got a thorough inspection from a competent inspector.

Hey, you got a house. Now you can make it into a home……with clean laundry.

Check to make sure there are still functioning lightbulbs in the house.
