The level is important since floors are often slightly uneven so just measuring up from floor or just from window corners can lead to a slanted curtain rod. Then If the curtains are hung on rings, they can slide toward the lower side and look uneven at the bottom. The one time I succumbed to the “let curtains ‘puddle’ on the floor” decorator touch I soon realized I had created a splendid dust bunny trap. You have two cats, keep the curtains off the floor!
It’s OK Amanda I’m allergic to painting. A church member asked me to come over and help her paint her small bonus room. What should have taken one afternoon turned into a three day marathon because we kept running out of paint. My dad, who is a painter offered to look at the room and give us the proper amount of paint to buy but she refused. All of that said, I don’t paint anymore.
You and Dan are such a great team! He does the work and you “help” him by giving him verbal support. Sounds like me and the ex. I still can’t hang anything straight even with a level apparently.
We had to hang a curtain rod recently; somehow, I found a “no measure” one. They come with a L-shaped guide that you align with the window box/frame. I still had Other do the installation… So I could vacuum up the drywalling dust as it fell, of course!

I feel caution is a good attribute for a judge to have.

Holding the level is the most important part of the job. Dan just stays so calm and gets the job done.

And holding the level is the most important-ish job, in curtain hanging!
