i’ve always thought this strip was better with the (cartoon) violence in it. the more “cleaned up” it gets, the farther from its roots it gets (and the less funny). Smythe himself described Andy as “that horrid little man.”
One time i believe – he was in the bath (a tin one) without it on. Andy “broke the 4th wall” and spoke to the readers, telling us Flo was washing it. Don’t know when it was published though.
