Not to mention doesn’t want to pay top pound for LISTENING to the shrink; it would waste the beer fund.

Ok, I’ll give him the muscle thing, but his liver? Or is beer good for your liver, anybody?

Andy has no problems. Not having a job is the least of them.

My brother-in-law has the same fear, he’s even trying to get on disability for his anxiety and high blood pressure.

I don’t think Andy has a “pathological fear of getting a job”, as the doctor suggests. On the cover of one of the Andy Capp paperbacks (I probably still have it, but don’t have it in front of me at the moment), there is a man who is apparently homeless on the sidewalk, holding a sign which says, “Unemployed.” Andy responds, “Me, too. Smashing, isn’t it?” So, I’d say in Andy’s case, it’s more a matter of him enjoying his free time rather than a fear on his part of getting a job.

I think we had Prince Valiant in one of our comics, or at least something very much like it. No Pogo as far as I know, but I was more attracted to humorous comics than sports, war or historical ones. It was only later, when TV21 came out that I ventured into the unknown.

When I was very young, there was Donald Duck, Bugs Bunny…. that sort of thing. I moved on to Metal Men, then moved to the UK where Buster, Beano, Dandy, TV Comic… blah blah blah … filled the gaping hole in my education.

    TV21 was a sci-fi based comic.

Eldo, I loved that comic! Number Six – since I don’t always have time to read Andy, please mention on Pooch Cafe when your Jailbirds comic is here. It’s a long time until Sunday for my old mind to remember. I don’t want to miss it.

Last I heard, StelBel’s digit (along with the rest of her) was dosed up with pain killers after a trip to the dentist.
