I take it that the constable’s beat does not include Canal Street.

Is there a Canal Street in Hartlepool? I know there is a Squircle out on Headland.

So why didn’t the constable escort Andy home Cappers?

This would’ve been funnier if Flo had said the punchline. In Eldo’s classic, the funny part is how matter-of-fact both Andy and Flo are about the whole situation! (Another classic I’ve always liked has Flo worriedly looking up and down the street from her doorstep, long after midnight. “He’s either in clink or in hospital, I KNOW he is!” Then she reconsiders. “At least I’ll know where he IS, nights!” Then Flo gets a very nice sleep, indeed.)

Don’t forget the hot soup. It’s not just the outside that needs warming up y’know.
