Why is the word “identification” abbreviated “I.D.”?

Now that’s a first! A PC who doesn’t know ol’ Andy… thought they would’ve devoted a chapter to him during the training.

yes, Andy the Policeman might not know you but the guy you were fighting will give him your name.

I would have thought that the other bobbies would have told him about Andy by now.

Don’t worry, after he gives a brief description back at the station, he will have Andy’s description. Actually I’m surprised that he wasn’t warned about Andy before he first went on his beat.

I did something like that myself, back around 1964, when college ROTC was required. En route between classes, my uniform was not exactly in order. Some senior ROTC dweeb called me on it, so I did what Andy did here.
