@Number Three Today’s strip IS funny, of all the holiday resorts in England ’ our HERO Mr Andrew Capp had to choose the hotel hosting the Hartlepool Police conference. I pity him don’t you? :o) my avatar is of a doormat with Go Away instead of Welcome , I wish I could get one of those, maybe the (female canine) Health Inspector that is hounding us about our drainage system would go away :o{ how was your weekend out in the sun? our Manic Monday should be very busy with Alex coming to continue fixing drains and the usual Monday errands , stay safe and BCNU pal
I’ve often wondered where they lived, but I don’t see how it can be Hartlepool. It doesn’t seem sufficiently industrial, for one thing. There appear to be only half a dozen or so pubs, some of which are far too modern/trendy to be frequented by Andy. Primarily, though: there’s no canal!
Sounds like the plot from a film where the bank robbers, on the run from the law, book rooms in a hotel hosting a police convention… and hilarity ensues…
That reminds me of the scene in Woody Allen’s “Take the Money and Run” where two competing gangs of bank robbers attempt to rob the same bank at the same time. And, you guessed it, hilarity ensued!
I love those kind of mats. Mine would say “Did you call ahead first?” I’m obviously in the minority but I prefer it when things are arranged beforehand instead of people just “calling in” I like to know when I’m expecting somebody.
Well, that’s what I WOULD prefer. But I don’t have my own house…..yet.
Yesterday, I found out which hospital my lifesaving blood was dispatched to. Always feel a warm glow when receiving those texts.
Thinking about going out tomorrow but not sure where to.

I’ll bet the police department will be more upset to see Andy than he is to see them.

At least there will be someone there to pull him from any water hazards.

I have no doubt that Mister Capp’s name has been mentioned in that conference many times.
The delinquent of Hartlepool and all that.

They can use Andy as “exhibit A” in their presentations. Maybe they’ll even pay him to be there, or even give him a “get out of jail free” card?
