The UFO seems to be a figment of Vail’s imagination. The artist drew the UFO in panel one to show us what Vail thinks he sees, and panel two is showing us reality.
But what would happen if Amelia circled through the space in front of him? Would his hallucination collapse? Or would the chopper crash into an invisible craft?
