Sorry to compare the pacing between Sunday pages here against the rigid practise of Monday to Saturday repeated in the Dick Tracy Sunday page. Both are continuities, Both are TMS properties. Why would TMS be so severely inflexible at Tracy while every other serial type strip in America allows a more enlightened practise.
A “classic example” of how it should be done appears in Annie this week, last Sunday to this Sunday, and the “daily” strips inbetween. Why can’t Tracy be done that way and avoid the bogging down, repetition we experience every week ??**
That’s the “sensible” way Dick Tracy ALWAYS was (under Gould, under Collins) to facilitate story progress *until Dick Locher*
It’s inconceivable that TMS could BIND Dick Locher to such NONSENSE. (?)
I have to “assume” therefore Locher either doesn’t have the writer’s KNOWHOW or achieve the “desired” faster pacing, or happily finds it requires “less effort” to produce an inferior product, “replicating” several panels, while boring readers.
So, the strip is stalled, mired, stuck in the same place with forward movement limited to between Tuesday to Saturday but often with replication there.
What’s even more astounding is that the **Editors of TMS sit by and ALLOW it to happen every week of the year (?)

I stopped reading Tracy because the it plodded along and the plots became too stupid - not the socially relevant satire in Annie.

I think it’s time somebody hired the world’s greatest female stunt driver. I’m not sure how she’d fit in, but she’d brighten things up in a hurry.
