Seems like “Voyage to nowhere” is a good description for this arc. I still love to read Annie, but I have to wonder if Al and Jay are trying to find a way out of this plot.
Have a plane drop black paint on the solar cells, then it will have to land or crash. (And imho: it can’t crash unless the doctor and his henchmen are the only ones to die).

I looked up zeppelins, and they don’t travel very fast, on average a little less than 50 mph, and in a head wind, forget it.

Black would concentrate the solar radiation. why not just shoot them up? Leaving just enough to land?
