COSTUMED CRIMEFIGHTERS ACADEMY – Online (for the duration of the emergency) Review Lesson #42: Conveniences. Critics of our profession often point out situations like this one. Our Class of ‘24 graduate has found a clean trash can that apparently is empty – just the ticket for hiding from the authorities. Other examples pointed to are crimefighter vehicles (in cities with INSANE traffic problems) able to find a parking space any time they want to, never having to go to the bathroom, or villains never waiting around to make sure a death trap set for protagonists actually works. (Plot Convenience Playhouse presents… is the oft-heard cry of these critics.) We do not deny that such serendipitous situations occur, but not everyone recognizes them when they appear. This is one of the things we teach our students to watch out for. One of our mottos is Life finds a way for the good guys… we can’t explain why, but it happens.
