Actually, I wondered yesterday whether Gene would say he had to get back to the restaurant for this weekend.But my next thought was “Shut up Susan, it’s a cartoon… they’re not thinking about that.”I should have known Gus was practical…but I’d think he’d worry more about Mother’s Day… it’s the busiest day of the whole year for most restaurants.

Strod, you may have stumbled on to something there. It would make for good drama, and it wouldn’t surprise me if Johnson does use her as the decisive reason Gene decides to go through with the marriage……

It took me a long time, but I finally figured out who Gus reminds me of. Lewis Black!

If Jimmy ever does a movie or TV version of the strip, the voice of Gus would have do be done by Lewis Black.

Has it occurred to anyone that Gene’s back because he needs more dough to fix up the house? Or to announce that Meg’s soon to have a sibling?
