Arlo, you need an eleven-foot pole at least before getting involved in any “Off the top of your head” replies here. Think long and hard before making a comment. :)

Is that the joke? They cost more because they have to work harder?

And a good bra that really gets Arlo’s attention needs a mortgage….. but it’s probably worth it….. 8^)

Worse than a waste of good money. Studies show that wearing bras contributes to sag. But I think her comment is about how once, a good bra was all about function, and now, it’s harder to design the function into a fashion statement. Arlo doesn’t care either way. Their function is to lie on the bedroom floor where he flings them. And at that point, he’s mesmerized by the movement like a cat at a ping pong match and doesn’t notice anything else. It don’t mean a thing, if it ain’t got that swing.

Of course “in the day” most women in the mid 60’s didn’t wear a bra…… good times then.

Just a uncommitted huh! will do, Arlo.My motto is "sometimes I’m quiet because I can’t think of anything better to say. And sometimes I’m quiet because I know better than to say what I’m thinking.

I agree with *@MeGoNow*’s take, above. Re: function vs. fashion. Plus there are many more fabrics, fastener options, and fashion “looks” desirable and available now.

I was reminded how expensive bras are after I fried a couple of my late wife’s bras in the drier at the laundromat. After that I let them air dry.

Sports bras for big girls over sixty who are dressage riders cost ALMOST as much as the horse. The sports bra for dressage riders was a remarkably popular booth at the World Equestrian Games….

When I was much younger a popular morning radio host talked about getting a bigger computer. He called it a “four hooker.” That came back to me with today’s comments.

The Mrs and the girls found a good bra fitter (they do exist, don’t laugh) when we were living in San Francisco. They say that life changed for the better that day. And I had a new $350.00 charge on a credit card that day. But, and this is a big but, happy wife and happy daughters. Very cheap price to pay.

Worse is when one wears an odd size and has to order it as no one carries the size. Sears used to advertise that they had bras that fit 80% of women – guess who is in the other 20%! And one pays extra because there is maybe one bra made in the size that meets what I want – plain, front opening – and one has to buy that one from the one place that sells it, no matter the price! Hence, I am about to make my every 10 years or so purchase of 3 of them.
