Cousins are the first friends we have as children. No-one understands your crazy family like your cousins do. Share this if you have the best cousins in the world.
My youngest cousin was 7 years older that me, so, unfortunately, we were never particularly close. Mind you, when my aunt and uncle still had their farm, he and his 3 older brothers were particularly good about minding a small, adoring girl cousin.
One cousin (female) used to beat me up and lock me in closets. She eventually grew up and lived a sensible life until she contracted Multiple Sclerosis.

That’s assuming they are growing up on the same continents (or countries). Not true for either me or my children. We grew closer much later in life.

True. My cousins and I were great friends as kids and although we live in different countries, we still have fun when we get together.
