Just because it appears to fit the fact as you presently know them, doesn’t mean it’s automatically and definitely the truth, Lottie. Jack and Linton showing skepticism is actually probably a good thing in fact, on a sort of check and balance kind of logic.

Mystery Grote wants to sink Linton’s boat in the mote.

Linton don’t want his mother to associate him with Potty Grote. Honestly, with Lottie’s theory about her mother boyfriend being the “Night Heroe” just because she don’t like him and he’s always busy in the night,… I’m on Linton’s side.
