Actually, from what I’ve read, the new Spider-Man is in the Ultimate universe, and he’s actually half-Hispanic, half-black.

He is American. Who really gives a poo what color someone is. It is what is beneath the skin that makes a person.

Uh,wow? That lame spiderman came out over 2 years ago.

Oh please America can we move on from a marketing ploy to reach a broader audience?

It doesn’t matter if you name your kids Miles everyone will take one look at them and say: “no, you’re not REALLY an american.” This is why minorities have to hyphenate. Its the ONLY way they can call themselves american.

If I were Hombre-Araña, I’d be Manasés Morales (Manuel is just too common).

You wouldn’t beleive how anglo my names is. Let’s just say, that most anglo’s can’t even spell it or pronounce it correctly.

Here in South Florida, Olga is a common name among Hispanic women. There are three at the company I work for out of about one hundred total employees. Saturday at a party I met another one.

I wonder if names like Sonia and Olga among Hispanics in Florida aren’t due to a half-century of Russian influence in Cuba.

If the new Spidey is half-black, could he be named after jazzman Miles Davis?

As to “hyphenated Americans”, the “American” part is what counts, assuming they really understand what “American” means beyond mere geography.
