See if you ever write and publish a driver’s manual, Baldo.

I can’t believe there’s a stop sign in the middle of the city. Shouldn’t that be a stop light?

A “rolling stop” is definitely illegal here in Atlanta! In fact, anywhere in Georgia!

Neither one are wearing seat belts! Worse than a “rolling stop”.

In bad neighborhoods at midnight, most people do rolling stops for safety sake. Ask any South African.

I have found that my reaction time has slowed down quite a bit in the last 10 or 15 years and after a couple of near misses I decided that the best thing to do is to always come to a complete stop and look both ways. I do this all the time even when there is no traffic, that way it just becomes a habit and I never forget. Also I always use my turn signals when changing lanes.

I’ve had a couple of instances where people did a rolling stop, which was more like not really they were going so fast.. In one case, the driver saw me coming but kept going anyway, and in the second case, the person didn’t even look, just blew past the sign. The worst ones are people on bicycles. They blow through red lights and stop signs because they don’t think they have to stop. I almost hit a kid on a bike because he blew through the stop sign when I was taking my daughter to the hospital for a broken wrist.

When my daughter lived in Miami, she said you couldn’t stop for stop signs, or you’d get rear-ended. Of course, that was in the late 80’s.Here in St. Pete, I had an acquaintance who was highly offended when she was ticketed for a rolling “stop.”

The creators of Baldo are on a roll for really good comic strips right now.
