In the early years, you can’t give a kid enough praise and encouragement. The results will paid huge dividends in the future.

Ya, there are people who know how to parent and those who really don’t have a clue and of course there are mean cruel ones too. Mine didn’t know how to be encouraging but they knew how to demean and criticize. So in a way they taught me how not to parent. I tried to do better.

He really needs a new wardrobe, he’s been wearing the same shirt for how many years now?

When I was driving limos, I met parents like Sergio. It was cute hearing these educated, seemingly intelligent, people say " we only encouraged her a little. We didn’t do anything for her. " They couldn’t seem to accept that that was exactly what they should have done.

I love involved parents who raise kids with the future in mind. Thanks dad, you were like Sergio, except you changed your shirt everyday. LOL.
