Mad Magazine once had a similar idea, back in the primitive pre-computer and pre-internet days, that kids should show their parents just selected parts of newspaper articles. The example I recall had a headline and lead paragraph extolling the benefits of dates for teenagers. What the teens wouldn’t want the folks to see was the following paragraph, explaining that dates (the fruit) are good for teens’ digestion, as they help keep them “regular.”
Curiously, this is the second comic today that inspired me to reference an old Mad article. The first was today’s Argyle Sweater.
