I dunno… aside from Cleo herself being leery of selling something called a hot dog…
I myself would feel wary about buying food, much less a meat product… from a dog.
No offense, Cleo…. but when I think about what my dog used to be willing to eat, and under what conditions she didn’t mind it being stored or found…. yuck!
And when was the last time you saw a dog wash its paws?
When I do buy a hotdog… which is usually only at Costco…. don’t hate me, but it’s ketchup all the way.
And onions, occasionally relish…. loads and loads of ketchup…. and no mustard!
There, I said it! No mustard!
Years ago, I loved the hot dogs at the famous, wildly popular, but now defunct, Kasper’s in Oakland, CA….
To a transplanted college student from the Midwest, they were wondrous, and exotically Californian… with fresh chopped onions and big wedges of tomato.
Oddly, though, I’ve never seen any like that since. Sigh….
Anyway… rather like Monty, I often (I’m told) declaim the obvious…. “It’s raining!” …. and such…
as though I’ve awakened, like Rip Van Winkle, as a stranger in a new world, that to everybody else is already boringly familiar.

Good boy, Monty. Now we move on to two-word utterances.

I understand that the name is not literally what they are made of, but shouldn’t Cleo be a bit uncomfortable about serving up hot dogs?

Cleo won this in a craps shoot. Even took the guy’s apron and hat. That girl can roll those bones.

No comb, no phone in those back pockets. Monty, think about your grooming!

Hi everybody… here I am…..
very sleepy…. but couldn’t just go to bed without pointing out to any newbies that we’re here, every day, on the 10-year-old Ballard St, to comment on
the current “CLEO and COMPANY” strip…. today’s being for Nov 25th 2018
Which you can read on Sherpa

Never look a gift dog in the mouth. I’ll take mine with mustard and onions.

I wonder what fuel Cleo uses to keep her weenies warm?
Apropos of nothing in particular, has anyone noticed that the neighborhood litter boxes seem to be cleaning themselves lately?

I was all set for a hot dog with mustard, onions and good chili until I read all of the above comments about the self cleaning litter robot!! Gasp!
(Maybe I’ll just stick to my coffee for now)
