Ooh, Stel Bel. I confess to never having read the book or seen the movie. But Bela Dogosi was The Dog for horror roles at the time. I don’t know if it was in spite of his drug problems, or because of them. He had the ability to really spook people big time.
Y’all know that I don’t spend a lot of time looking at scary posters. So it comes as no surprise when I thought this was a Charles Laughton movie by the glance at his jowls. Boy was I wrong. Sorry Mr. Dogosi!

Thinking of all sorts of “lights on” jokes.
The lights are on, but nobody’s home.
“Eureka”, said Claudia.
Edgar is looking particularly radiant, thinks Claudia.
As we say here in the Northeast, “Dawn breaks over Marblehead.” (Hint: Look at a map of Mass.)
