Wow, such self awareness! How many people or bassetts in Cleveland even consider that possibility? For Cleo (and Katrina) it is always that evil cat. For Clara the problem is Claude. For Claude the problem is those buttons.
It’s a sobering realization, isn’t it Gail? When you realize that the common thread linking all your interpersonal relationship problems is you. That ought to teach you not to sober up!

And if I shall drink tea…… by the ocean washed beach…. my innermost soul I endeavor to reach…
Once that center of self is found.. “Outside” becomes”inside”… Profundity abounds!…
For what Gail states plain if all of us can see….
Is…..Look!…It’s Verne Troyer! (mini-me)

Ah, Gail, but how do you fix it?
Or is this too much linear “guy” thinking out of me?

I thought CC-47 Kibblashnikov assault weapons were banned by executive order of President Rodham?

You know what wise old kibble hunters say, on the verge of the annual holiday hunt….
“Trust in your rifle, but carry your Costco card… just in case.”
Few people know, btw, about the Plymouth Colony Costco….
one of the best-kept secrets of Olde Massachusetts.
For the first dozen years or so, there wasn’t the great variety of kibble and equipment one might expect from a Costco….
but those delivery ships were pretty small in the 17th century.
Nor do many people realise that this is not a Barkwell cover, for the Saturday Basset Post.
It’s probably older than that… done by Barkwell’s idol and sometimes mentor, JC Leyendogger…. though their work overlapped for a while.
Lleyendogger was probably the premier canine illustrator of the WWI through 1920’s era….
best known for his illustrations of the Arrow Collar Dog, the modern jolly, red-suited Santa Claws, and innocent Puppy New Year.
We’ve had so many great Cleo and Company Thanksgiving images over the last few years…
More than for any other single subject I can think of, though I admit, I don’t keep a database.
Thanksgiving, though, is only a day away…
Probably only one more image, new or old…. and possibly one for the day after… so which ones will we not get to see this year?

I, too want to thank Stel for all her hard work for these posters. I have thoroughly enjoyed the whole week of our Thanksgiving celebration. Cheers!
