@BevYour Birthday Party was so much fun. Any chance you could persuade Stel to throw one once a week?Come on, you know you want to!

@BevOMG we have…..um…..had words about some of those very things! Especially the dinner thing, I’ll ask and he will say “anything is of”, so I’ll make some weird thing and he will silently eat it and say “Good dinner”. Drives me up the wall, 52 years of this! Arrrrrgh!

Aw… Dr. Binkums. the vet, says Red Chief was just taken away from his mother too young….

He just gnaws on things to calm his anxiety and soothe his feelings of abandonment.

Stan loves Red Chief, and he was rather hoping that six years with him and Malvina… six years of walks and treats and belly rubs…. would be enough to erase those painful memories….

But Dr. Binkums says to be patient…. so he just buys more band-aids,

Malvina said the other day that some vets don’t always make excuses for the dog….

But Red Chief is so good about going to the vet, they’d hate to switch..

Past my bedtime….

Bev, I forgot to mention that you also apparently share a birthday with that famous GoComics star, Luann DeGroot….

She turned 18 yesterday. Pretty historic, after being 16 for about 20 years.

I HATE mosquitos! I can barely be outside right now without more bites.

Today is the last day of summer…..quick! summery things await!…………………..

Those Mighty Bone treats don’t cut it anymore. He wants real meat!

I have just had a very bizarre thought…….. Blended Scotch whisky in milk with either maple syrup or caramel sauce. I need the name of the nearest psychotherapist..Either help me or let me patent the concept.

Please! Nobody mention summer getting over… or use the word “autumn”… till ALL my tomatoes have been harvested…. They’ve had a hard enough time with the California drought and this year’s unusual weather pattern.

September is usually my peak harvest… but they’re sparse…with a few plants still blooming hopefully, and others already dying….

I even cover their little ears when anybody mentions the equinox.

I think I’ve explained before that I’m up very very late in California…

I often make my last post when the very early risers on the US East Coast are stumbling toward the coffeepot, and it’s easily time for elevenses in the British Isles.

And for an hour or two before that, I’m chatting the few night-owls…or with ’toons… and shadows… and Fenton.

Bev… thanks for explaining to 2Old…I didn’t want to say anything and appear to take any credit…but it’s very true that no single person throws a party here…it’s a concerted effort.Which you well know, cos when they’re not for your birthday, you work so hard on them.

We just fell into it…cos we like it.But there’s nothing official or sanctioned about it.It has sort of developed that Bev finds a large chunk … and sometimes all… of the food and music for most of our parties…StelBel creates the invitations…My specialty, what with having a bakery AND a pie shop here in town…is making the birthday cakes….Everyone is most welcome to help… post food, music, virtual gifts, greetings…. or even do an event of your own….it’s a free forum!

SUSAN, thank you for explaining poor Red Chief’s cruel childhood. Stan is a saint for letting RC soothe himself by gnawing on Stan’s legs and arms.Either that, or Stan should visit that nice man in the white coat- the other doctor with the big net and cool jacket that ties in the back…

BEV, you are wise not to ask for a weekly party. I don’t think STEL, X_TECH or SUSAN et al could take the pressure of out-doing themselves on a weekly basis, lolDang, but they’re good!Catchy word, that. Dang, dang, the gangs all here.Gosh, I am sooo tired. Does it show?
