For the cowardly lion…All you need is a medal.

Here on Ballard Street, we like to recognise and reward those whose special qualities might fall through the cracks in less caring or observant neighborhoods…

Acts, large or small, of kindness, genius, heroism… even all-around niceness or local greatness…

it all deserves a rank, a ribbon, a medal, or even a uniform.

That’s part of what holds our neighborhood together… and makes it the friendliest place you could ever live.

In fact, Ted lives right down the block from the Stanleys, who run a local recognition and transport service…..

and together with Ted’s wife Agnes, the four of them organise many a special day or party, even a parade or two,

to honor one or another unique denizen, including some of our animal citizenry, of this wonderful place we call home.

Susan, good link. True the Ballardians like to celebrate their accomplishments. I just worry when it gets too militaristic.

Is it legal to wear the uniform of a ship’s doorman / copilot / commissionaire / drum major?

Well, if Obama can make up a medal to give to Joe Biden, so me, you and Ted can make up our own too…

Who is that guy!?

I find that outfit strangely appealing.

While Ted may work out of his garage, Stel’s Costume Annex will make custom costumes of any type, including faux military kinds.
