Strange as it may seem, my first glimpse of this cartoon made it look like a gothic cathedral setting. The hose appeared to be part of an arched doorway, and what turned out to be gas pumps looked to be the altar. In my defense, I could not see the coiled hose section or the drain grate. I was thinking JVA had done something in a totally different setting! Mildly disappointed to find myself back in modern times.

(At least, “hubcap” is what I first thought of, but maybe it is a drain grate, although it looks more like a manhole cover)
