Reading the actual material covers it all. And it can be hard those old books that expect the reader to know the words and to be able to concentrate to read them. Not like today.
If I was the teacher I would give 50% of what are in the cliff notes and 50% from the actual story. So they have a chance of making 50% by being lazy. I’d even tell them that to see if it matters.
I was studying “The Odyssey” in school when a TV movie of it came out. My teacher made a point to ask at least one question that was not answered correctly by the movie.
