Whaddaya know. There’s a song called “Margaritaville”. I learn something new every day.

But Spinning Wheel is Blood, Sweat and Tears.

I thought flip-flops were still a thing (we used to call them zoris, apparently from a Japanese term).

We still wear flip-flops, but I prefer to call them trip-flops.

Pop-tops are also camper-cars.

I have a spinning wheel, and that’s not just a yarn.

The spinning wheels got to go round.

flip flops are a type of shoe. Pop tops are bottle caps.

I smell shrimp . . .

Gotta shuffle off to Buffalo to find a pop top.

In his song Margaritaville, Jimmy Buffett is talking about a pop-top, like the ones you used to pull completely off of soda or beer cans, leaving a sharp piece of metal that people often threw on the ground.

I was today years old when I found out what it was that blew out Jimmy Buffet’s flip flop. For the past 20 years or so I was just using the word “clop-lock”, which was used in a Futurama episode. And I’ll probably continue using that word.

if you don’t believe that trash pollution is forever, pop tops (pull tabs) will prove you wrong – they keep turning up wherever i stick a shovel into the ground and it’s been nearly half a century since their use was discontinued…
