The way things are going with EVs, it will be conspicuous consumption to buy one. Trucks are quickly becoming very popular and, in order to increase range, manufacturers are making bigger and heavier batteries. The long range trucks are becoming significantly heavier than their ICE counterparts and making those huge batteries uses so many resources, they’re becoming counter-productive to the original purpose.
Always get a belly laugh when the EV worshipers call them “gas guzzlers”, where do they think that electricity comes from? “Never mind those natural gas fired power plants. we’re focused on gasoline and diesel”. Oh, you want to build more power plants? NOT in my backyard!!!!
I’m doing my part by not buying an EV. There aren’t a whole lot to go around, and Californians are really going to need them when they aren’t allowed gas cars anymore.
Many of the super-rich does the opposite. They hide it because they know they are the chief leeches here and if we the people find out and really act on it the rich would be hunted down and killed maybe even eaten if people are starving.
