We have a tool at work, the name for our purposes here is Let’s Do Lunch. (Not the real name but it will get the idea across.) In a chat with one of our other offices I referred to it as LDL. A number of things were discussed in the chat and one of the team, say her name is Ann, said, “What’s LDL?” I replied to a number of different things, and put in the chat…Ann, Let’s do lunch. The fact that she is 2,000 miles away would not have stopped her husband or my wife from being concerned. They certainly would not be LOL’ing like the rest of the chat room was doing.

I once received a letter that began, “Dear Blockhead.”

At least we no longer end business letters with “Your humble servant”.
