have you ever noticed that when geeseare flying in a V formation that one side of the V is longer than the othe saide? there is a reason for this do any of you know the answer? ??? answer is below
What’s the matter with the geniuses reading your strip today? The columns would be the same length if the second goose in long side would fly alongside the first goose in the short side. The long side has the last leader in the rest spot.
@plods with beer, They think it is because the lead bird goes to that spot on the changeover and will get more easy flying time so in other words, a little rest

The “V” formation IS a draft formation. Also, geese take turns in the lead so they can rest in the draft.

Looks like maybe their V is vertical instead of horizontal.

I’ll bet those geese know more about air flow that we give them credit.
@BigChiefDesoto (yesterday) re: “Prominent Scientist Resigns”….the follow-up story on that is that the APS simply smeared him.

That is a draft formation. That’s why they keep changing the one at the front who is encountering and deflecting the wind resistance.

That’s easy. It’s not a ‘V’, it’s a CHECK MARK.
