Help…off topic. Looking for the BC strip with Wolfie trying to get his master’s attention. Ends with a ball and something being a bad mood ender. I thought it was a recent episode, but I must be going nuts………
It’s not unheard of for a large bird (eagle) to land on a power line with no ill effects – until he takes off. What do birds do before take-off? Lighten the load by taking a dump, and if the stream hits the other wire, they get goosed to death!
I’ve seen hawks sitting on power line cross arms – right between two wires! Can’t figure out how they can spread wings to take off without hitting the wires.
Can’t compare with the Continental Red Cross flight from Ft Lost in the Woods Basic Training to Armadillo, Texas to visit my ailing mother. Stewardesses took great care of me. Same 66-69 as my brother, above.

Piedmont! Ozark! Not to mention assorted others I flew between 1966- 1969 (my military career). Allegheny was another.

Is that Charlie Brown’s Kite from the kite-eating tree??
x_Tech about 12 years ago
Drag that kite line across some high tension lines and you’re talking one fricassee and turtle soup in the shell.

Winds are usually gustier and more turbulent at lower altitudes – that is why wind turbines must be built so high!

The laws of physics to not apply to comic strips; or else that skinny bird could never have become airborne with the heavy tortoise, at any altitude.

And the bird remains above it all.
