In the southern US, we have “Wolf spiders” that carry their egg sack underneath their abdomen. It doesn’t matter how manly a man you are, you will squeal like a little girl when a thousand baby spiders run out from beneath your shoe.
Speaking of squealing like a girl, I saw two grown men pick up a portable roof panel off the ground one day, and about fifty mice ran out from where they were nesting. They both dropped the panel, screamed, and ran.
When my mother would see a spider hanging down from the sink she’d take off her slippers, hold one in each hand on each side of the spider, and sing "happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday dear spider (WHAP!!!), happy birthday to you!
Spiders are (mostly) our garden friends and indoor too. I have no worries. Just if you have a brown recluse. Their bite isn’t painful, but head for the emergency room fast. Their venom is necrotic and they can treat it before it kills lots of tissue.
