Oh Ben, I agree! Our old joints just can’t cope anymore. :-(

i’m not old enough to retire yet, but I experience this issue at work every time I stock the bottom shelf of a display. Getting old is not for wimps.

“I have no problem rolling out of bed in the morning, it’s getting up off the floor that’s the problem”

I can certainly identify with that. I knew in panel 1 where this was going.

You can do it, Ben! You’ve been trying since yesterday, though, so ask your granddaughter to bring you a walker to pull yourself up on.

I’m not that bad yet getting up from the floor, doing it without using my hands is a bit more fraught then it use to be. (When I was a youth my sensei drilled us on how to up and down from a sitting position on the floor. Since that is the position we would be in unless we were practicing a move or strike. You never used your hands since they might be needed to fend off or grapple with an attacker.)

Gonna join you in a little while, Ben. My joints have started making creaking every time I get up from the floor or the chair.
