There was a time when your visual memories were in a book, in one place, which you could view one page at a time. Opening up digital folders of images is to be deluged with an overwhelming plethora of conflicting emotions evoked by the jumble of thumbnails. I have to be in a very good frame of mind to revisit photos and videos of my wife who died in 2006.
