    If she’s a school teacher who is critical of grammar then statistically she will get most of what she criticizes dead wrong. I bet that the passive voice (which she probably thinks is a tense) is the one thing she hates above all other.

    hence… “noicantspell”, for all the retired teachers on this web site. i stopped fighting that monster a loooong time ago.

    @tail wind. i remember when they put “ain’t” in the dictionary. some people had fits.

    I heard this story 40 years ago: A woman buys an electric iron, but it doesn’t work. She dreads writing the manufacturer to complain, as she has the same apprehensions as Betty. Finally, simply writes, ‘My iron she no get hot.’ She got a new iron.

    don’t use spellcheck – then we would have fun with such things as then there would be their and they’re for there, there. I perfer two tents for too tense. But spellcheck will only give me spellcheque when I want a check mark. .this could be fun. or is that phun?
