Weather app, people. Get it, use it before you head out, pay attention while you’re out there. Hiking in the rain can be lovely if you have the right clothing and miserable in the wrong clothing. Not to mention many safe places to hike while dry become treacherous or even deadly in a rainstorm due to footing or flooding. And lighting is not your buddy.
