Big Nate by Lincoln Peirce for November 20, 1999
Transcript:
Nate: Hello?... No, this isn't the man of the house. This is the son of the house. Nate: You're probably wondering what a kid my age is doing at home at this hour, when I should be enjoying an array of extracurricular after-school activities. Nate: Good question! I'm actually wondering that myself! Okay, my grades haven't been the greatest, but is that any reason to place me under house arrest? Nate: Is it? Is it?! Dad: Another unsuspecting telemarketer.

That’s a good way to get rid of ’em.

Yep. I hope his dad will let him at least be in a sport or cartooning club.

He’s got a point. Nate’s dad should hire him a tutor, or encourage him to get extra help after school, but this isn’t the way to go about it. If he’s having problems studying and in school, you don’t just take things away from him and call it a day, he needs help.
