Anybody keeping count of the vacuum cleaners given out on these comics pages this season?

It reminds me of the time I asked my parents what they thought each other when they first met (they both worked at a restuarant in England).

ME: Mum, what did you think of Dad when you met him?

MUM: A big show-off.

ME: ( I asked them when they weren’t in the same room ). Dad, what did you think of Mum when you met her?

DAD: A sexy groovy chick!

Thinking of her as the janitor of the house haha

For Mother’s Day one year I asked for and got a wheelbarrow. Gardening is my passion.

Gram’s reaction, “Oh good! Another gift that sucks!”

I think a vacuum cleaner is a pretty good gift. Not romantic, but still a good gift for their first year.

My dad gave my mom a vacuum cleaner one year — her reaction was something I’ll never, ever forget. No one in this family gives household items as gifts now, even if a person requests one.

A woman I used to work with told me that her husband asked her if she wanted a vacuum cleaner for Mothers Day. Her look was response enough
