    WARNING!!!

Do not try to make a Mocha Shake using Nuclear Coffee. It took the hazardous waste people three hours to declare the kitchen safe again. Next week they will be putting in a new ceiling & roof. Until then we just have to make do with a tarp. I liked that shake maker, it was my Great Grandmother’s.

LUVH8 As the song goes, “And I forgot to bring my spoon.” Why do I suspect corn chips and salsa on May 6? A Nuc coffee, shaken , not stirred. I will take your advice on tranquilizers and Nuc coffee. The chamomile tea on my shelf I assume is out of date. When I was a kid I took my Labs pills. Slept for a week. That was before DOC TOON’s discovery. Can’t believe a Vet prescribed them for a dog.

Can’t do it anymore since I’ve gotten a CPAP. Slap that puppy on me and I’m out at least 3 hours, or until nature calls, whichever comes first.

LuvH8 - I could never understand that. If I got too far to the right the THUMP THUMP THUMP would wake me up and if I was too far too the left, some courteous fellow traveler would blow their horn at me. What’s the problem??

Carmy, when I spent my winters down in the Rio Grande Valley, I was very disappointed in the Mexican restaurants. We had to cross the border into Mexico to get good food. I did find one gas station that served good breakfast burritos and barbacoa, but that was it. I thought it was amazing that an area that had a 95% hispanic population could not have one decent restaurant. I never did get into Brownsville except to the big flea market north of town, but I got to McAllen and all the little towns surrounding it.

Rmom, I can make flour tortillas, but I haven’t in some time. I don’t use Bisquick though, I make it the way my Mom taught me. It’s been so long though, I may have to call her for a refresher course. The last time Mom was visiting, she taught my girls to make pico de gallo and tamales. I usually buy Mission flour tortillas in the small, fajita size. They’re actually not small, they’re a good size. Since we’re a family of six, going out to restaurants is too expensive.

    Good Morning, Cleo!

Cleo, you have to go to the “hole in the wall” restaurants to get some good Mexican food in the Valley, or at least that’s my opinion. My Tia was the main cook at one place and while she was there, the food was great. After she left, the food was as yucky as it was before she worked there. You have to be careful in the restaurants in Mexico. For instance, with cabrito, you need to be able to tell if it’s actually a goat or a dog.

Carmy - If my kids liked to eat Mexican, we couldn’t go as often. But since they don’t really like it that well, it isn’t so expensive if we leave them at home, and it is just the two of us. Especially because I get filled up easy, so usually just order a taco or enchilada. My Dad wasn’t crazy about Mexican food, but Mom liked it. So, she didn’t usually cook it. We got a Bisquick cookbook from her when we first got married, so that’s where we learned how to make tortillas, and a good enchilada recipe.

I know the feeling. Last summer, my Dad and uncle were in town for my Mom’s burial. When we picked them up, my other uncle and I hoped to take them to a local microbrewery. Unfortunately, it had closed, and was being remodeled under a new name–and was due to open the following week! :-( So we went to a local Dairy Barn instead.

WARNING ~ Little Tim Joke Ahead!

Little Tim was in the garden filling in a hole when his neighbour peered over the fence. Interested in what the cheeky-faced youngster was up to, he politely asked, “What are you up to there, Tim?”

“My goldfish died,” replied Tim tearfully, without looking up, “and I’ve just buried him.”

The neighbour was concerned, “That’s an awfully big hole for a goldfish, isn’t it?”

Tim patted down the last heap of earth then replied, “That’s because he’s inside your cat.”

@LuvH8, that reminds me of the Addams Family movie scene where they are burying the cat

Edit: the first 10 seconds of this video. Admittedly, I liked the rest too

Winston Churchill took a 45 minute nap every day even if he had to put off visiting heads of state. I take a 45 minute nap every day. Watch out when I decide to save the world.

LUVH8 I thought we agreed “The Incident” would never be mentioned again.

Lewreader I was talking about The Incident this morning of trying to make a Nuclear Milkshake. From now on I guess I need to be more specific.

D EMET, I do not know how much time you have and which provinces you will visit, but Cochrane, Ontario is where Tim Horton is from, since you are into hockey. Another cool thing is that you can take a daylong train trip North to Moosonee which is at the bottom of Hudson’s Bay. It takes a day to go up explore and return in the evening. No roads lead to this Cree community and you see bear moose and wild territory from your train window.

LUVH8 Please forgive me for misunderstanding. The NUC COFFEE milk shake blew my mind. I mistakenly thought you were talking about “The Incident” I mistakenly revealed under the Big Top last night (did I say mistakenly?). The Incident (mine) will never be discussed again, unless I fall off the wagon The DOC had a conversation with me today on the advantages of acetylene torches and NUC COFFEE. It may be of value to you in your culinary efforts, not that they’re not top notch already.

    HOWDY, EVERYONE!

The folks at Big Top are an observant lot, aren’t they? Who needs help from Evil Infiltrators when they’re so, well, not quite operating on all thrusters themselves?

I had a CocoMocha this morning. Now grabbing my spear and seeing what I can go kill for dinner.

EMET you never answered my question, I don’t think. Since you were at the Hockey Hall of Fame, did you go up to the CN Tower right next door? If you didn’t you missed a FANTASTIC trip! I SOOOOO want to do that again, I thought I would freak out up there but my kids wanted to do it, and it was a thrill I will ALWAYS remember!

Does anyone in today’s world even know, or care about FLAT FEET? My how times, they do change, don’t they? ! LOL!
