hey Terry
i’ll have a Leinie (i’m reading the latest of my John Sandford novels - which take place in Minnesota - and that seems to be the beer of choice for his characters) and some cold KFC please. was just trying to catch up to yesterday and got caught in the turnover.
It’s wonderful ♠Lonewolf♠. Thank you for filling in for me.
Now let’s see I’ll have Steak and eggs, (Sunny side up please)
Hash Brown Casserole
Sausage links
Cinnamon rolls
Chocolate Pudding
orange juice
Johanan’s CocoMocha (for bed time)
Doc’s World Famous Nuclear Coffee (for now)
PEPSI
LONEWLF What is that they say about men being the best cooks? Steak and eggs please, porter house and over hard. Keep DOC’s CONTRIBUTION TO MAN coming, cream no sugar please.
LADYWOLF If you keep eating like that you’re going to end up looking like SHE WHO MUST BE OBEYED, not that she is not the most beautiful woman on earth.
Morning TRIBE I woke at 2 AM to see the first comment in 2 Cows and a Chicken imply that I might not be dealing with a full deck. Hmph!
Implying? I think they came right out and said it, Lewreader.
Lonewolf, if you can come up with some beef sausage, scrambled eggs, hash browns (double order) and my boss’s contribution to the well-being of all alternate realities everywhere (well, one of his contributions) - that is to say, without any further prolixity on my part, CocoMocha - I’d be much obliged. :)
Also how many hours are you allowed? Where I work at pt office related only allowed 1,000 hours per callendar year and have to miss 4 hours. Usually I try for BD to miss but last to years I had two different surgery’s the first one lost a whole month, the 2nd one a week and two days so far that is not being made up.
Ladywolf I will so look forward to reading your stories I hope there nice.
I’m so surprised for this morning how lite the comments are.
For Sat. whole dept goes to county zoo, some may not like see different species locked up but I look at it this way good way to get exercise. Suppose to have 20% rain and last year I took an umbrealla and it did rain couple hours after being there. And there is a new hospital that has been built further out northwest offering tours thought hubby and I could go to with the hopes we don’t have to ever go.
I hope everyone is having a great day. I just wanted to say ‘hi’ before I went to sleep. Is anyone around? I’ll just pick and graze at the wonderful breakfast menu.
By the way, will someone PLEASE do something about all this rain? I just looked out the window and noticed that all the animals were starting to line up, two by two.
Doctor Toon your talking to me I know about tight money. I only get 20 hours a week that is it. There was one young woman when boss wasn’t there put in almost 8 hours the boss was furious with her. Ask me about it I told him I had nothing to do with it also said there where I couple of others asking her to do something they denied so I told him I’m only responsible for my own hours to ask the other worker, which he promptly did he demanded answers and what I heard she got her ears bent. Locally I’ve heard of other stores cutting hours back to sending people home because of payroll.
For anyone who knows I was trying to get Comic-Con on internet unable to.
Morning all! Doc - at least it’s supposed to cool off a little for the weekend. We’re helping some friends move, so that will make it a little easier at least.
BTW - am I just early, or has Luv not made it on to send you to bed yet?
I agree Doc. Luckily I’m in airconditioning most of the day at work. Driving home has been less than comfortable lately though. I promise I won’t say a word to Luv about you being up late. Can you pass me a cup of your WFNC. I’m afraid my whistle is broken this morning.
Got up early to go to a couple of stores and mow the yard. Finished 90 min. ago. It’s up to 90° with heat index of 99° so looks like I made it inside just in time!
Ladyhawk - My day is good so far, except I tried to start another programe on my laptop I use while on the internet and it locked up. It takes at least 20 min. to restart it. Someday I’ll get a better one! :-)

No!!!! I refuse to picture a bunch of monks shivering through their morning showers! No! No! No! Even keeping the image Rated G, I do not want to imagine that.
Oh Geeeeeesh! It’s too late, but you are all showering in a group shower (like gym classe) fortunately wearing white towels around your waists for modesty. But that one guy has really knobby knees and needs to trim his toenails.
Hi, tribe!
I was out doing errands today, and I was very glad to have remembered to bring iced water to drink.
Sojo - My sister & I went to B & C Creations for lunch - have you ever been there? It was extremely busy!!
Ladywolf thanks I checked up on it now see if I can get inside. I thought would be interesting to see the creators of cartoons and comics.
I will be watching some tv soon. Not everything is reruns and I also have a tape to watch, I need to get more of my book read.
Ladywolf I enjoyed your short story I feel I could see it. And it sounded as it’s poetry. Use that for your future classes.
Sojo - BBQ buffett - all you can eat for $10.99 (including drink & tax). It is at 3rd & Washington, so real close to Old Town. They used to have all sorts of neat antiques, etc., but they had to sell that part off. However, it did give them room to put more tables, and it is a good thing they did.
Sojo - It is a pretty rare treat, as they aren’t open for supper, just lunch. I’m not sure what days, doesn’t seem like they are open all 7 either. I don’t get there very often, but it is always good. I like being able to prepare my own plate, so I can have a little of this, a little of that, etc., and get a good look at the meat before I take it.
Hi, Doc!Sojo - I’ve learned to put plastic bottles with water in the freezer, so I can take them on my trips to Wichita. Half-gallon jug of ice for the groceries, smaller pop or Powerade bottles for drinks. I use an insulated glass, but refill from the bottles. If my kids and/or hubby are thirsty, I can hand them one of the bottles, or they’ll drain my glass dry.
Sojo - Possibly, but with the length of the line today, there wasn’t temptation to go back for seconds. No desserts, so that removes one area of temptation.
Rmom - I filled up water bottles with ice and water on bicycle rides. I learned to use water only because I’d often forget to rinse them out when I got home. If I had something with sugar in the drink it would get moldy, etc..(The bottles were made to reuse and were too expensive to throw out all the time.)
Sojo - I used to use some “real” water bottles, but it seemed like they kept getting teeth marks (think young boys) on the pop top lids. Yeah, we’ve had a few moldy thermos bottles, so I know what you mean. Now I just “recycle” disposable bottles, and can keep several in the freezer that are ready when I need them.
Sorry for the delay. Wolfangil just had a minor bumper to bumper accident in the pouring rain. Nobody hurt and no damage other than hurt feelings. I had to call the insurance company.
We are extremely happy that everyone is fine. The guy in the other vehicle did not want her to call the police. He said there was no damage to his vehicle, but his neck might be stiffening up and “they could probably work something out with out notifying the insurance companies”. She was smart and called the police. Good try though. The policeman wasn’t too thrilled with the guy either.
Terry - I was wondering why you’d call the insurance company if there was no damage, but if the other driver was that type, then calling the cops & insurance company was a wise move.
Rmom, please check into freezing water in water bottles for later use. I read before that it was not a good thing to do. Something about chemicals from the bottles getting released into the water when it freezes.
I was also wondering about calling the insurance company and poss. having rates raised, but in this case that was a good thing to do. I need to turn in early for my zzzzzzzz’s as I got up early. Have a GREAT Turnover!
Terry - True, but since we get an “accident-free” discount, we try to not make claims if we don’t have to. But in this case, I can see the wisdom in doing so. I sometimes forget that KS probably has a higher “honest person to scammer” then Chicago and other areas of the country.
Rmom, If the guy does not pursue the “neck claim”, then hopefully it won’t be considered a claim as I am not requiring repairs on either vehicle. I hope, anyways.
Carmy - My sister is the type to worry about that. I’m of the opinion that I’m not going to live forever, and so I’m not going to worry about every possible risk. It isn’t like we drink out of them every day, either.
Terry - Considering most ice cube trays are made of plastic, I wouldn’t think freezing is likely to cause chemicals to release. I could see where using them in the microwave might make them warm enough to be a concern.
Rmom, sorry, I just checked on Snopes and what I said about freezing the water bottles is an urban legend. I must have read about it in one of those “I just heard from a friend” emails.
Carmy - Thanks for checking it out. There are a lot of those types of emails going around, so either I don’t worry about it, or check it out like you did.
Rmom - - - That’s right about the ice cube trays. With the automatic ice maker in our refrigerator, I didn’t even think about those. Funny what technology does to ones memory!
Terry - We have a fridge that can make ice, and dispense through the door. However, we don’t like the taste of the well water, so buy Culligan treated water in jugs we refill. That water is primarily used for ice & drinking water. Therefore, I’m still using ice cube trays, and just dump them into the hopper.
Well water???? We have well water, sometimes it is really good and some times it is yucky. I filter the water we use for drinking and making ice and food and Coffee and tea. Makes better coffee.
Luv - We have a whole house filter system, and I can tell when it is time to change them if the water starts smelling. I don’t know that I’d ever class it as “really good” tasting but it is fine to use for lemonade, jello, etc. and we don’t notice any weird taste, so it isn’t horrible. But for drinking straight, it does have a noticeable flavor.
Terry - Our fridge has a filter system too, but we never ran a water line to try it with well water. (2nd fridge we’ve had, the other didn’t have an ice maker.)
We don’t have a filter system for the house water. I just use a Britta for the drinking water, and when the water gets smelly or not clear we run the water outside for about 30-60 minutes and that usually clears it up. But when we lose electricity it usually takes a lot longer for the water to be usable again.

Rmom, please check into freezing water in water bottles for later use. I read before that it was not a good thing to do. Something about chemicals from the bottles getting released into the water when it freezes.

Hello Carmy
I was also wondering about calling the insurance company and poss. having rates raised, but in this case that was a good thing to do. I need to turn in early for my zzzzzzzz’s as I got up early. Have a GREAT Turnover!

Terry - True, but since we get an “accident-free” discount, we try to not make claims if we don’t have to. But in this case, I can see the wisdom in doing so. I sometimes forget that KS probably has a higher “honest person to scammer” then Chicago and other areas of the country.

I know there is an issue with the heat causing chemicals from the plastic to be mixed with the water, but I haven’t heard that about freezing them.

Rmom, If the guy does not pursue the “neck claim”, then hopefully it won’t be considered a claim as I am not requiring repairs on either vehicle. I hope, anyways.
Hi, Carmy.

Smiley Rmom over 14 years ago
Terry - We have a fridge that can make ice, and dispense through the door. However, we don’t like the taste of the well water, so buy Culligan treated water in jugs we refill. That water is primarily used for ice & drinking water. Therefore, I’m still using ice cube trays, and just dump them into the hopper.

Well water???? We have well water, sometimes it is really good and some times it is yucky. I filter the water we use for drinking and making ice and food and Coffee and tea. Makes better coffee.
Smiley Rmom over 14 years ago
Luv - We have a whole house filter system, and I can tell when it is time to change them if the water starts smelling. I don’t know that I’d ever class it as “really good” tasting but it is fine to use for lemonade, jello, etc. and we don’t notice any weird taste, so it isn’t horrible. But for drinking straight, it does have a noticeable flavor.

Rmom, we have a filter system in the fridge and “city water”. Not too bad. :^)
Smiley Rmom over 14 years ago
Terry - Our fridge has a filter system too, but we never ran a water line to try it with well water. (2nd fridge we’ve had, the other didn’t have an ice maker.)
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Rmom, I don’t know how well water would work with a filter system. I never needed to try it nor did I know anyone else who did.

We don’t have a filter system for the house water. I just use a Britta for the drinking water, and when the water gets smelly or not clear we run the water outside for about 30-60 minutes and that usually clears it up. But when we lose electricity it usually takes a lot longer for the water to be usable again.
