Good Morning ♥Little Sister♥ & Montana LadyWhen I first tried to formant text last night it didn’t work. It seems as though I can only bold text. I’ll miss the edit button too. I used it a lot.Toon CommentNo bigger than it already is.
LITTLE SISTER I assume under the new GoComic rules that I’m supposed to order everything printed in upper case. I would also appreciate a cup of DTWFNC please.
Even an old fart like me ought to get some respect. I couldn’t sign in last night to do my second helping of the toon and the witty comments. This morning it took aout 6 tries to login. I was going to change my user name and passcode to “LEW” but was afraid one of the brilliant people here might decode my sneakiness.
Thanks and Good Morning All. I was begining to think my computer was deciding things for me. Also had to resign in and then it was doing a weird line up of toons. It went from B’s to S’s?? New rules??? Oh my, I’ve probably broken one already by complaining…………………
Little Sister informed me there’s a change. I tried to get on and couldn’t noticed GC under construction. Have you all noticed there are two hidden features. Put your mouse on comment lower section and see.
I was wanting to say this to SRmom yesterday but if you see this today. I didn’t pay a $500 for MS Office professional software. I went on line for MS Office they have student rates. For student’s they give a great rate. You also need a fast hard drive my son tells me. With my lap top acceptable. You can set it up and they go through your college email for confirmation. As a student I only paid $89 plus shipping. I have all features needed for future courses.
Kab – My hubby’s in charge of buying our computer software. We have found that buying through Academic Superstore (first with our homeschooling legal card, and now with a college ID) that we can get great rates on software. I’m sure that my hubby didn’t have to pay $500 or he would have mentioned it. Psuedo – I do use MS Access, so Open Office won’t work for me. My geek son is already using Open Office on his, so I’m aware of it. Since my class was on MS Office 2007, I had to have that particular version to do my assignments, plus I figured if I was going to learn and remember it, I needed to start using that for all my various files. I’ve been in computers since punchcards, so I store a lot of information that way. PowerPoint was the only MS Office software that I hadn’t created a file in before the class started, but I’d been using the 2002 version up until that time.
I just noticed the delete key on my comments – I don’t think it was there last night when I noticed there wasn’t an edit key. Comments here don’t show who’s a paying customer and who isn’t, but on my profile page, it shows I’m a “pro” now, instead of a “genius”. Probably a better description.
Looks like if we use the “reply” key, our comment is now getting inserted immediately below the one we’re replying to. However, there is no indention, so it’s a little subtle. (Look for the blue).
Good morning, Wolfie! I can see for people who are trying to catch up on the comments, inserting the replies immediately after the original comment would be helpful. But for those of us who are continually refreshing to read the new ones, it will make it harder to find the new comments to read. Unless, of course, we use our “tried and true” method.
Kab – Stay safe! I’m guessing that you’ll be closest to the bad weather today, although it looks like the whole state is under the same level of risk now, according to intellicast. Kansas.com said along and west of K-14 (Kingman county) is where the most risk of tornadoes in KS is today.
Wolfie – Just dealing with a body that is falling apart. Heartburn across the chest, even with prescription Prilosec. Trying to find out what my doctor wants done on me next. (Or which specialist to see.) Sounds like my most frequent summer activity is going to involve medical facilities.
Rmom – -I can relate to what you are (or are not) looking forward to in the upcoming months. Different reasons but the multiple visits are still upcoming for me also. Thankfully, they are are getting to where it is longer in between visits. :^)
I can’t access the second page of the 75 comments…….even though I clicked on the “Load the rest of the comments” link. We’ll see where this “comment” goes
Wolfie – I know you understand. Tain’t no fun at all. I don’t think my comma is working either, but there are a few in this sentence, so if they don’t show up after I post, we’ll know it isn’t just a lack of punctuation on my part.
Hi, M’Lady! I think I’m going to stay away from gocomics for a few hours or so, hopefully by then they’ll get all the upgrades done. We’re (includes Kab & Sojo) under a severe t-storm watch until 5pm. I hope Sojo didn’t get wet while he was out running errands, as it looked like a heavy rain moved through his area earlier today.
Another problem: when you do sign in, you get shunted to your home comics page, and not back to the comic you had been on. And comments seem to vanish.
Likely some of both. And I agree about the commas. Silly thing to disable. Also: I noted that multiple paragraph returns get reduced to one. Also: any number of _s (in paired sets) give italics, while *s give bold—a change from earlier formatting.
I’m also still getting used to (1) having to hit a button to get all the comments, and (2) using that same button location to refresh the comments. If you hit the “refresh page” button on the browser, the list gets shortened.
I was trying to add Lost Side of Suburbia to my list, but it tells me the URL is too long. Wonder what’s up with that. Guess I’ll give ’em a couple of days to work out the bugs.
Wish when I reply to a comment it would put it with the comment instead of at the bottom.
I’ve noticed that the comment count has remained at 89, even though I’ve seen new comments posted. Are other ones getting deleted? (I haven’t bothered to count.)
I haven’t been able to get on all day. Any help would be nice. I have figured out hoe to get on through a back door sort of but it’s a round about way. The site won’t come up when using www.gocomics.com – any ideas?
