    Good Morning, everybody who’s here!

    (esp: Plods)

    ++++

    It is confuzzling about the codes.

    .

    As I understand it, html codes mostly work, like < i > and < h1 > (less the spaces, of course). Italics is also underline(_) before and after, and bold is asterisks(*).

    Except that there has to be a space before the first underline or asterisk. Or something like that. (And multiple ones(*) no longer work like they used to.)

    .

    < a href=“url” > works for embedded web links.

    .

    Beyond that, I get lots fuzzier on what to use.

    .

    My advice is to find a nice HTML code page and bookmark it for opening in another tab/window when you need something exotic. And experiment.

    I do know that bold and the various headline fonts (h1, h2, h3 . . . h5) interact in odd ways, some turning red or making odd sizes—and even both.

    Just gocomics trying to get us really discombobulated enough to stop using them, I guess?

     •  Reply
  14. Yellow pig small
    bmonk  about 13 years ago

    Hah! That nearly worked!

    Except, apparently, multiple *s get squisshed into one.

    ++++

    I’ve also noticed that several ^s at the start of a line will become one, just like several line returns go to one—and one line return just vanishes.

    And my “trademark” separater (++++s) will sometimes become a ±.

    No, I know what you mean—sometimes the comment doesn’t post until refreshing; other times it takes two or three minutes to appear, and often it comes aftre just a few seconds.

    .

    And then there’s times—most often when I try to reply to someone—that “submit” doesn’t work, and the page has to be refreshed. In that case the text reappears, but not the “reply to xxxx”—but it still is a reply to that person when it does load.
